Politics and the Bible

Politics and the Bible

A Godless World Government (NWO) manipulates Mankind

It’s possible that, over the longer term, democracies will come out of their shells to find a new type of pragmatic internationalism.

How the pandemic will reshape the world” (Guardian 28-March-2020)

Let’s Define Politics

[Politics is] the activities of the government, members of law-making organizations, or people who try to influence the way a country is governed

Cambridge Dictionary

According to this definition, politics seems like a two-edged sword. Yes, it is needed to make laws for an ordered and stable society. Good politics aims for democracy – the belief in freedom and equality between people, where power is either held by elected representatives or directly by the people themselves. For good or for bad, politics also seems to thrive on capitalism – the production of goods and services based on supply and demand in the general market.

On the other hand, national politics can be (and often is) used to make oppressive laws, as in communist states. And in many parts of the world bad politics (the lack of democracy) leads to persecution of minorities. So national politics, in its widest sense, affects us all, every day, for good or for bad.

International Politics

Now look outside individual nations and ask what we mean by “world politics”. Yes, there is such an entity. It’s called World Government. It seems the world needs answers to big issues like:

politics

Spanning 27 countries, the European Union (EU) is a good example of international politics, although many doubt its democracy since its laws are set by an unelected elite. Then there’s the United Nations, an International organization concerned with global issues and having a primary objective of maintaining peace and security amongst nations. But again its democracy is questionable when, for example, the resolutions of the UN General Assembly are invariably biased against the Jewish state, Israel, link.

Is “The Great Reset” the Answer?

To improve the state of the world, and to combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Economic Forum started The Great Reset initiative. The program is far-reaching, from “Plastics and the Environment”, to “Blockchain” to “Climate Change”. But, again, the program suggests a lack of democracy by including “Digital Identity“, “Internet Governance” and “Global Government“. Instead of traditional capitalism, the group says the world should adopt more socialistic policies, such as wealth taxesadditional regulations and massive Green New Deal-like government programs.

politics

This global program assumes that politics and mankind is in control of the environment, including climate change. It says that if we act quickly and drastically mankind can solve or at least mitigate the climate problem. They argue it is man’s world, not God’s (there is no reference to God in the EU Constitution, for example):

As the leader of the world’s largest economy … we embrace our responsibility to do something about it (climate change) [Barack Obama, USA]
We have the knowledge, the tools and the money (to solve the climate crisis) [Prince Charles, UK]

Doesn’t all this sound like the pride of those who built the tower of Babel?

And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves” (Genesis 11:4)

But what does the Bible say?

The Nations from God’s Perspective

The Bible is quite clear on who controls the world. It is not politics and world government. But until Christ returns the politics of the world will be strongly influenced by “the ruler of this world (Satan)” (John 14:30, 16:11). Their minds are “blinded by the god of this age” (2 Corinthians 4:4).

So even though “the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD” (Psalm 2:2), “He who sits in the heavens shall hold them in derision” (Psalm 2:4). As at Babel, mankind is in open rebellion against God and in reality the nations have little power to build their godless world utopia:

Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket, and are counted as the small dust on the scales (Isiah 40:15)

In fact, the end of this age is far from a man-made utopia. See Bible prophecy coming true.

Don’t trust in politics: trust in the coming Lord Jesus Christ
